Who orders brownie boxes

Our brownie box customers are mostly dessert shops, home bakers who sell online, and cafes with a brownie on the counter. Many also make blondies and bar cookies that need the same shape of box.

Corporate gift buyers order brownie sets for clients and staff. A box of nine squares with a printed lid is easy to send and easy to share in an office.

Mail order bakers order them too. Brownies travel better than most baked goods, so they suit a gift-by-post business.

Each of these buyers needs a box that keeps squares apart, holds back grease, and looks tidy when the lid comes off.

Sizing a box around your cut

Brownies are cut from a pan, so the size depends on how you slice. A 2 inch square and a 3 inch square need very different boxes.

Measure the cut pieces after they have cooled and set. Fudgy brownies spread a little when warm, and a tight box will crush soft edges.

Square cuts are easier to box than round or irregular pieces. If your edges vary, send the largest piece size so every cell has room.

Height matters too. Brownies with a thick frosting layer or a nut topping need extra space above them so the lid does not touch.

If you sell more than one cut size, list them all in your quote request. We can often fit two sizes into one dieline family so the lids match on the shelf.

Grid inserts that keep squares apart

A grid insert gives each brownie its own cell. The squares cannot rub together, so crackly tops and frosted edges stay neat.

Grids also make mixed flavor boxes easier. Each cell can hold a different flavor, and buyers can see the range at a glance.

For larger sets, ask about our cookie boxes with paperboard dividers, which use the same insert method for flat bakes.

Without a grid, place parchment squares between pieces. It is cheaper but slower to pack by hand.

Grid walls can be printed too. A flash of brand color inside each cell looks sharp when the lid comes off.

Dealing with grease and moisture

Brownies hold more butter and moisture than most cookies. Bare paperboard can darken where a square sits for a day or two.

Lamination on the inside face slows that down. Aqueous coating also helps, and a grid insert lifts the brownie away from the outer walls.

Many bakers wrap each square first. Our clear cellophane treat bags fit single brownies and keep the box itself clean.

Food-contact grade materials are available on request. Tell us how the brownies will touch the box and we will suggest the right build.

Box styles for brownies

A two-piece lid box suits gift sets because the full grid shows when the lid lifts. A sleeve and tray feels more like a candy box and suits smaller sets.

Tuck end boxes are the quickest to pack for single squares at the counter. Window boxes show off swirls, nuts and sprinkles without opening.

Rigid gift boxes suit client gifts where the box should last. They arrive set up, so allow a little more storage space for them.

Long bar layouts work in our rectangle cookie boxes for bars if you sell brownie fingers instead of squares.

  • Two-piece lid for gift sets of 9 or 12
  • Sleeve and tray for sets of 4
  • Tuck end for single squares
  • Window box for topped or swirled brownies
  • Rigid gift box for client gifts

Packing brownies the right way

How you pack matters as much as the box. These steps help brownies arrive looking the way they left your kitchen.

Teach anyone helping you the same order so every box looks the same.

Chilling before cutting is the step people skip most. Warm brownies drag under the knife and leave ragged edges that show through a window.

  1. Let the pan cool fully and chill it before cutting.
  2. Cut with a hot, clean knife for sharp edges.
  3. Wrap squares or set them straight into grid cells.
  4. Close the lid gently and check nothing touches it.
  5. Seal the box with a printed sticker or band.

Shipping brownies by mail

Brownies are one of the best bakes to ship because they are dense and rarely crumble. The main risks are heat and crushing.

Pack the printed brownie box inside a corrugated mailer with padding on all sides. Our corrugated cookie shipping boxes work well as that outer layer.

In warm months, ship early in the week so parcels do not sit in a depot over a weekend.

We ship your empty boxes flat, free to the US, UK, Canada and Australia, in 2 to 3 business days after production.

Brownie boxes have a large flat lid, which gives you room for a strong design. A close photo of a cut square often sells better than a logo alone.

Deep brown, cream and gold are common choices, but bright colors help a brownie brand stand out from chocolate-heavy shelves.

Use the inside of the lid for a flavor key on mixed sets. Buyers then know which cell holds which flavor without guessing.

Foil on the brand name and a matte finish on the rest suit a dessert shop look. Kraft with white ink suits a homemade, farm kitchen style.

Keep the ingredients and allergen text on the base or a side panel. Many brownies contain nuts, so make that line easy to find.

Brownie bites and small sizes

Brownie bites are cut from the same pan but much smaller, often around an inch. They need a shallow box with a tight grid, or they tumble together.

A box of sixteen or twenty bites makes a good sharing gift. The grid looks like a chocolate box, which buyers tend to like.

For single favor portions, our small favor-size cookie boxes fit one or two bites with room for a ribbon.

Tell us the exact bite size, because a quarter inch difference changes the grid a lot at this scale.

Brownie box pricing

Brownie boxes start from $0.30 per unit. Size, board, quantity, inserts and finish all affect the price you see in your quote.

Grid inserts add cost but save time and breakage. Your quote shows the box with and without inserts if you ask.

Kraft board with a one-color print keeps costs low for everyday counter boxes. Save foil and rigid board for the gift sets that carry a higher price.

To get started, request a brownie box quote with your cut size and the number of squares per box.

Brownie Boxes: questions

What size brownie box do I need?

Measure your cooled, cut squares and tell us how many go in each box. We size the inside to fit with a small allowance.

Do you make inserts with a cell for each square?

Yes. Grid inserts give every brownie its own cell so they cannot rub together.

Will brownies leave grease marks on the box?

Rich brownies can mark bare board. Lamination, coating or wrapping each square helps prevent it.

Can I fit frosted brownies in these boxes?

Yes. Tell us the total height including frosting so the lid clears it.

Can you make a box for a whole slab?

Yes, we make flat boxes for uncut or scored slabs used by cafes and caterers.

Do brownie boxes work for blondies and bars?

Yes. The same grids and sizes suit blondies, lemon bars and other cut bakes.

Can I add a window?

Yes, PET window film shows toppings and swirls. It works well on two-piece lids and tuck end boxes.

Are brownie boxes good for shipping?

They work well inside a corrugated mailer with padding. Brownies are dense and handle transit better than crisp cookies.

Can you print a flavor key inside the lid?

Yes, we print inside the lid on request. It helps buyers match each cell to a flavor.

How long does a brownie box order take?

Production takes 4 to 6 business days after proof approval. Transit takes 2 to 3 business days.

Can I mix brownies and cookies in one box?

Yes, with a divider layout that fits both shapes. Send the sizes of each item.

What if my brownie boxes arrive crushed?

Report damage within 10 days of delivery with photos. We reprint or refund the affected boxes.
