How a sleeve and tray box opens
The customer holds the sleeve and pushes the tray out from one end. Shells come into view one at a time, which turns a short row of macarons into a small reveal.
Because the tray is a separate piece, the sleeve carries all the printing. The tray can stay plain white or kraft, or carry a simple pattern inside.
The two parts lock together by friction alone. There are no tabs to tear, so the box can be opened and closed many times.
This also makes sleeve boxes good for tasting menus. A customer can slide the tray halfway, take one macaron and close it again.
